While at Paddington Station today I spotted a statue that bore a startling resemblance to the player in Amberfell:

Separated at birth?

The statue is of Isambard Kingdom Brunel who designed the station (and half the rail network of England) and sported a fetching array of top hats. Henceforth the character in Amberfell shall be known as “The Engineer”.
