In a follow up to Rael's Red-Carpet article, Vladimir Vukicevic, a developer at Ximian, has said that he plans to read the new RSS 1.0 spec to determine whether they can make the necessary changes to use 1.0 instead of their home grown version. Rael's article seems to suggest that the differences are minor so it shouldn't be too much work for them.
