Microsoft are likely to redevelop their existing wireless browser to compete head on with Phone.com's offering. News.com are likening it to the Netscape/Microsoft browser war of recent years. It's probably far too early to speculate. I find it amusing that both Microsoft and Phone.com have abandoned their prior efforts to create proprietary markup languages in favour of WML.
