Computer Plays With Lego

Scientists at Brandeis University have programmed a computer to design lego structures without human intervention. They gave it some basic physical principles and goals such as spanning a distance or supporting a weight and it spat out it's own designs for the structures. The designers are hoping that this work will lead to robots that can redesign themselves for particlular tasks.
