There’s a new article over at JavaWorld about Microsoft’s planned COOL programming language. Not many details but they leave the idea running around your head that Microsoft may just simply drop all support for Java. It’s probably all in Microsoft’s plan anyway, they’ve made such a good job of altering developer perceptions of Java that they can drop Java support completely on the grounds it’s buggy and has never lived up to it’s promise of being a true cross platform language. Microsoft don’t lose no matter what they do to Java. It’s always going to be Java that loses in the long run.
